At some point, I came to the realization that we just need to be kind to one another. To appreciate what we have and let others in our lives know that we appreciate them too.
I’ve been blessed with the most amazing family and a group of friends that truly have made an immense difference in my life. I appreciate them more than words can say and try, from time to time, to let them know. Often, using my blog to say words that sometimes are a little tough to say.
Like Thank You.
Sometimes, it’s difficult to show your appreciation…the words get stuck in your throat as by saying them, it leaves you just that much more vulnerable than you were before.
With movements like Pay It Forward and locally, with the Red Stag’s #CaringCounts initiatives, we’re reminded that it feels good to let people know that they’re important…that we notice them.
Telus has been making a difference for a while now. Last year, I had the great privilege of being invited by Telus to attend the We Day events in Halifax…and it truly was one of the most remarkable experiences I’ve ever been part of. Locally, they work with their employees to make a difference in their communities by actively getting involved in initiatives for their Telus Day of Giving.
While I’m impressed by their community and national efforts to make this world a kinder and gentler place, Telus is also making efforts to let their customers know just how wonderful they are!

If someone were to make one of your dreams come…if you could do ANYTHING for one day…what would it be? Would you spend the day at an F1 race meeting your favourite drivers? Would you spend it with your favourite athlete? Attend a concert with your favourite musician? Would you head off to Europe to a whirlwind visit to view amazing culture? Visit a spa or winery? What would one amazing GRAND GESTURE look like for you?
Grand gestures or itty bitty small ones…letting someone know that you recognize and appreciate them…is a pretty remarkable thing! Throw out a “Thank You” to someone who’s making a difference in your life. Tell someone who means the world to you just how special they are. After all, spreading a bit of kindness, showing that you care, paying forward…it all bounces back and makes you feel absolutely wonderful.
Kindness…Caring…it can change the world.
