A little bit of a ramble… #NationalCoffeeDay

I’m on my second round of antibiotics this month. The first one didn’t seem to do the trick. In fact, it possibly made things a bit worse as it did something completely obnoxious to my stomach.

The second one will hopefully fix what’s wrong but the problem is…it’s an antibiotic that I absolutely HATE as it leaves a metal taste in my mouth the entire time I’m on it. So, if you see me…offer me a mint, a piece of gum or an orange…something, anything to take the damn taste away!

I have a sinus thing. For the last three or four years it’s rare to see me without a tissue. If I’m wearing leggings (which obviously don’t have pockets)…you can be sure there’s a tissue stuffed up the arm of my sweater or the edge of my bra like a ninety year old woman!

I’m run down. I haven’t smelled a thing for weeks and I’m completely stuffed up to the point that the top of my head could possibly blow completely off. This second round of antibiotics has to work…it just has to.

In the meantime, everything else is good.

SpiderMan is loving MUN…he changed his mind and decided to try out for Junior hockey in Newfoundland and made it through the draft. So…I feel a little bad about the Hockey Mom post going viral as apparently, if he makes it onto the team, I’m sticking around for a little while longer. To be completely honest, I’m a little freaked out by him playing hockey without me in the stands as he’s 18…which means he goes from a cage to a half visor and well…pucks and fists fly around that ice at an astonishing rate and the thing is I rather like his face. A lot. But, if he has it his way, there’s more hockey posts to come…hopefully none of them to do with any mishaps!

Did I mention I have a whole new crop of grey hair since he left for University last month?!

The Tall Blonde is busy with school and her work as a guide at Parliament. She really and truly seems to love her job and they city in general…making great friends and enjoying some wonderful adventures. I’m heading that way in a few weeks to spend a couple of days with her and enjoy Ottawa in the Fall. She’ll be working and going to school…and I’ll be working while I’m there…and hopefully we’ll find lots of time to hang out and visit a few places together. I enjoyed it immensely on my last visit to Ottawa…and surely it will be every bit as fabulous this time around.

High School Volleyball has started back up for Bones. The team consists of a great group of girls and the parents…even better. Bones seems to be really enjoying the fact that she’s an only child at the moment…we do more together it seems and look forward to our weekends together. The house is still on the market…might be for awhile the way things are looking but that’s ok…we have absolutely no idea what our plans are once it sells. I’m looking at possibly renting until Bones finishes high school but who knows. Right now…it’s her and I in a 3,000 square foot home and we have to actually make an effort to be in the same room at the same time as one another. But we’re doing ok.

Work is going well…both Curtains are Open and Drawbridge Creative are busy. There’s always something to be designed and lots of exciting blog work on the horizon so I’m definitely keeping busy and out of trouble. In November, I’m heading for another Girl’s Weekend in Florida and if you recall from last time, we had an absolute ball at Epcot and might go again because…well…Disney. This weekend I’m actually going away with another group of girlfriends from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and we’re looking forward to an awesome meal on Friday night sponsored by President’s Choice (watch the blog next week for details). AND speaking of Disney, next week I’m super excited to attend a luncheon and have a look around when the Disney Magic is in port in Halifax! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go on that ship and I’m not entirely sure they’ll be able to drag me off!

That’s kind of it from here. It’s National Coffee Day so I poured myself a cup, put my feet up and reflected a little on what’s been going on around here this last few weeks. I’m in for a busy Fall that will lead into a busy Winter but really…it’s the way I like it.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods…if you have something exciting going on, leave me a comment, I’d love to hear about it.

Blog posts are rolling out as fast as I can write them but while you’re waiting, follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram where there’s always something entertaining to like and share!
