I’m in a wee creative slump so I thought I’d troll a few blogs to get a little inspiration. First stop, one of my favorite bloggers LouLou. (If you aren’t following her and want some fabulous entertainment, click on the link!)
Anyway, I got a kick out of her recent blog post “48 Questions, 48 Answers”…so I thought I’d give it a go and see if I could clear my head. Here goes…
1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
A stripper. But not on purpose. A few days after my christening Mom and Dad were out to lunch and saw a brochure on the table for a “dancer” who would be appearing in the bar that evening. “Colleen O’Dea. The Irish Lassy with the Sassy Chassy!”
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
A few years ago I would have had an easier time answering “when was the last time you didn’t cry!” But, I guess the last time I cried was when The Tall Blonde left to go back to France.
3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Yes. I have a book that has a note from my great-grandmother. And I have every letter and card my grandfather wrote to me in his beautiful penmanship. I love people’s handwriting. It’s part of who they are…holds so much history.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
I’m not fond of lunch meat. Unless Bacon can be considered lunch meat and in that case, it’s definitely bacon. I’m not a fan of processed meat. Or cabbage. But that has nothing to do with the question.
5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Three.
6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
Absolutely I’m amazing! Just ask my friends.
7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
Always.
8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
Yes. And with this question, I’m trying incredibly hard not to tell you a hilarious family story!
9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Nuh uh.
10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
Rice Crispies. I like the Snap. Or the crackle. Maybe it’s the Pop.
11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
Nope.
12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
Stronger than I ever dreamt possible.
13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Onaccounta the cookie dough.
14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Hair.
15. RED OR PINK?
Red.
16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
I avoid conflict at all costs.
17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
Both of my grandmothers…one living one gone. My brother. Little-One in Dubai. My friend Les. And, more than anyone, my Poppy.
And now, I can change the answer to Question Number 2.
18. WHAT IS THE TECHNIQUE THAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON THE MOST?
Technique? I’ve always wanted to be able to stick out my tongue and touch my nose or cross my eyes without getting a headache. And, I can’t whistle while blowing out I can only whistle while blowing in.
19. WHAT COLOR SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Bare feet at the moment.
20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
Last evening, while heading to Spiderman’s hockey game with my Dad, we grabbed donuts at the drive thru!
21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
The Q with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC Radio. An interview with Chris Hadfield from space.
22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Turquoise or Gold.
23. FAVORITE SMELLS?
The beach. The salt air in Newfoundland. My grandfather’s forge. Limes in Corona. Strawberries. Noxema hand cream. Brand new puppies. Old Spice.
24. HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS TO YOU?
Pretty important. I always vote to make sure my “voice” is represented. I love living in Canada. (Even though my voice isn’t really being represented at the moment!)
25. MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY OR BEACH HOUSE?
With or without a male companion? Not that it matters.
26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
Anything my children are involved in…hockey, volleyball, riding. I also love going to the Grand Prix in Montreal much for the excitement in the city as the race itself. Did I mention hockey?
27. HAIR COLOR?
Loreal Preference #48 or #69.
28. EYE COLOR?
Brown. Green. I don’t know.
29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
No.
30. FAVORITE FOOD?
Cheesecake!
31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Happy endings.
32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
Probably The Hunger Games with Bones. I’m not a big movie goer as I hate sitting in one place for too long. It makes me all antsy.
33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
Black.
34. SUMMER OR WINTER?
Fall.
35. FAVORITE DESSERT?
I SAID Cheesecake!!
36. STRENGTH TRAINING OR CARDIO?
Strength training for sure! A lot of you know this is new for me. It’s been a few weeks, for various reasons, since I’ve found time to go the gym and I’m DYING to get there! I LOVE the way it makes me feel after a workout.
37. COMPUTER OR TELEVISION?
I used to watch a lot of TV but now, seldom catch a show. This week, while home sick, I watched a few episodes of Majumder Manor online and really got a kick out of it. But…notice I said I watched it online. My computer is my lifeline!
38. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
The kids got me a Kobo for Christmas and I’m greatly enjoying it. I’ve read two books since then… A week in Winter and The Virgin Cure. Both quite enjoyable. I’m about to download a new one…any suggestions?
39. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
Don’t use one.
40. FAVORITE SOUND?
When all three kids are together and laughing.
41. FAVORITE GENRE OF MUSIC?
Rock…The Police, Sting, The Who, Eagles, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Zeppelin, Melissa Etheridge. Oh and stuff like Corrine Bailey Rae and a whack of other music including Adele and Mayer and…just about anything. Then, there’s the “local music” that I love with some fabulous musicians I’m happy to call friends.
42. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
I suck at Geography so I have no idea.
43. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
I think I have a way of making people feel at ease. Feel good about themselves. Not sure…is that’s a talent?
44. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
St. John’s, Newfoundland…most beautiful place on earth.
45. WHERE ARE YOU LIVING NOW?
Halifax, Nova Scotia.
46. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR HOUSE?
Beige and Brick. BUT, I need to paint the front door and I’m thinking Lime Green.
47. WHAT COLOR IS YOUR CAR?
Navy Blue…boring. BUT it’s a HYBRID so that makes it a little more exciting!

They say us maritimers measure distance in time so I have the geography question covered. My home is where ever my family is, my kids are young enough that we are all still in the same home. So farthest distance away from home: 10 days.

My fav. Colour is PINK, I LOVE the smell of cotton candy, my mousepad has BLING and My FAVORITE food is French fries AND cheesecake!!!!! avig said that we should have a slice together!!!!!!nGreat seeing you to iChat and I loved reading your 48 answeres!
