With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I’m left once again wondering what to get…to show my mom just how much I love her.
And really…there’s nothing.
Aside from wrapping the moon in a large blue bow, finding the perfect box that would fit the sun, or figuring out a way to capture all of the air outside and package it neatly in a jar…there’s nothing I can give her to show her the beauty, brilliance and strength of her love.
It’s the same problem every year…trying to come up with a trinket to aptly explain that THIS is how I feel, THIS is what you mean to me, THIS is how your love heals me…makes me a better person…warms me from the inside out.
So, instead…I’ll pick her up a scarf, a pair of slippers, a new set of cozy jammies. I might purchase a candle…a dozen flowers…then pick out a card with sentiment that seems trite to how I actually feel. It’s not the gift that matters.
This Saturday, I’ll be heading down to East Coast Momma Collective’s Spring Fair at St. Mary’s Boat Club. The fair is filled with beautiful arts and crafts from local Mompreneurs…where, most definitely, I’ll find a little something for Mom.
East Coast Momma Collective’s Spring Fair is filled with amazing, talented, wonderful Moms “showcasing everything from paper goods, textile art & apparel and accessories to bath and body products, housewares and delicious food.” The Spring Fair is the perfect place to support local crafters while finding the perfect gift for you…or someone you love.
Come by, check it out…I’ll be there signing and selling copies of Full Speed Ahead…and I’d love to meet you there!
